Emily & Rich Vintage Vineyard Wedding

I have had a busy fall/winter after the wedding season and have been behind in updating the blog. I am going to try to play catch up over the next couple of weeks or less. At the end of August we had the pleasure of working with Emily and her fiancee Rich on coordinating their wedding and helping them to execute their vision. New Fusion Events was hired to not only coordinate their wedding day but to also help with lanterns, flowers and set up. Emily is a wonderful and creative young women who knew exactly what she wanted and how she wanted it and we were happy to help in executing her vision.

The tent was decorated with lanterns in orange and purple as well as grapevine balls provided by Emily. Manzanita branches were also placed on the poles surrounding the dance floor.

Emily and Rich spend many months collecting unique vases, vessels, books and miscellaneous items. New Fusion was able to work with Emily on providing flowers that she loved and that looked wonderful in the containers that were provided. New Fusion was able to provide our services to arrange the items provided into a wonderful and tasteful centerpiece for each of the tables.

New Fusion provided the beautiful bouquets for the wedding that included flowers such as roses, eucalyptus and hydrangea.

A rainy & exciting wedding

In August we had the joy of helping our bride Alyssa to coordinate the day of her wedding. The day started out nice but windy with a chance of thunderstorms. An hour before the wedding the skies began to change and it was clear that the storm system wasn't going to pass us up. We quickly moved all of the chairs and decorations the bride had prepared into the tent and started the ceremony. It wasn't quite as the bride had planned but was beautiful and memorable none the less. We were happy to be there to step in and help when the unexpected happened. We only have a few pictures from the event due to the storms that moved through but please enjoy.

The bride chose colors of fuchsia and yellow for her bouquet and her bridesmaids bouquets. Here we incorporated her chosen flowers of Hydrangea and Calla's.

Here you see the tent as the wedding ceremony gets under way. New Fusion Events provided the lanterns for the event as well.

Alyssa loved Calla's and wanted them in wine bottles they had collected on the tables. New Fusion Events helped her pull together her vision. The elegant glow of candles placed in between the bottles gave a wonderful glow come night fall as well.

A fun and relaxing vineyard wedding

Joann and Dan were an amazing couple to work with. Joann's main concern was making sure her guests would be kept comfortable and have fun in a relaxing environment. The wedding was just what the couple wanted and I'm confident guests are still talking about how much fun they had at the wedding.

Water and lemonade was placed at the start of the aisle for guests to help themselves to before the ceremony. Vases of Dahlia's were placed on each table to bring in the couples colors. The chuppah was handmade by the bride's family and was accented by potted plants.

Button mums in yellow with grasses wrapped in jute were worn by the groom and other

male members of the bridal party.

The kiddish cup and plate for the ceremony were engraved and are beautiful keepsakes

for the bride and groom.

Fans were placed on each chair for guests to keep cool.

The vineyards at Willow Harbor provide a great backdrop for cocktails on the patio.

A menu highlighting the couples favorite drinks was a great way to personalize the cocktail hour.

Plants flanked each side of the walkway at the entrance to the tent.

Purple lanterns brought a lot of color into the tent as well as the arrangements. Small vases were filled with Dahlia's and tall vases were filled with purple delphinium and greens.

The short arrangements brought in color and texture. Vases were filled with Dahlia's and variegated pittosporum.

Escort cards were vintage style tags hung from twine at the entrance to the tent. They looked stunning blowing in the wind.

Homemade jam was sent home with guests as favors. They were packaged by the

couples own family and friends.

Pictures of the bride and grooms parents and grandparents were hung

above the dessert table.

Instead of traditional wedding cake a buffet of homemade pies were available for guests. Family and friends from as far away as Ohio baked pies for the reception. The whole event was amazing and guests were able to kick back, relax and enjoy Joann and Dan's fabulous wedding.

Charming & Chic Home Wedding

This past August we were given the wonderful opportunity of working with a local family on planning an "at home" wedding. The bride was specific on incorporating an amazing color palate of gold, orange and pink. We took it from there to create an amazing wedding that even the rain earlier in the day couldn't dampen.

Favors of honey from the couples new the couples new residence of Charleston were a huge hit and brought in the couples wonderful color palate.

Champagne glasses surround a centerpiece of roses. Guests grabbed a glass at toasting time and gathered at the bottom of the grand staircase to wish the bride and groom well.

To give guests some more energy to continue dancing through the night NFE brought in a hotdog cart to serve guests a late night snack. Guests could customize their hotdogs to their liking.

A Beautiful Vineyard Wedding!

A beautiful day for a beautiful bride! We had a wonderful time working with Nicole and Ben on their July wedding up at Willow Harbor. They had a vision and knew exactly what they wanted. Everything came together beautifully and the guests had an amazing time!

Mason jars filled with Gerbers were placed on shepherds hooks down each side of the aisle.

The programs, designed by the bride & her family, worked double duty as fans.

Paper flowers were hung from the Italian stone gazebo and honeysuckle that was wrapped around the poles dressed up the ceremony site.

Pictures of the couples parents and grandparents were placed on an old door and a vintage box was the perfect addition for guests to place their cards in.

The couple chose a wonderful wine as a favor for their guests and it added a wonderful splash of color to the tables.

A bit of Whimsy: Marter Wedding

Earlier this month we had the pleasure of doing our first wedding up in Watervilet, MI at Mill Creek Barns. It is a wonderful venue and is beautiful on it's own without any decorations. We were able to add just a small amount to the existing decor to get a large impact. The bride had collected milk glass vases over the course of many months and requested we fill them with a single flower. With colors of red and orange with hints of blue we knew Gerbers were the right choice. We loved working with Heather and Marcus and can't wait to be back up at Mill Creek Barns again in the future as well.

The escort cards were hung by the entrance to the barn. Guest found their names on a card with the picture of an elephant on it. Guest then found their way to the table with the corresponding elephant.

There were many unique micro brews offered to guests in addition to a few specialty drinks. The Rosemary Gin & Tonic was just one of a few tributes to the bride's late grandmother, Rosemary.

The cupcakes were provided by Sue's Cupcake Shoppe. Not only did they look wonderful but they tasted amazing!

The tables had centerpieces consisting of Gerber's in milk glass vases. A unique elephant was placed on each table and served as the place card. Favors of homemade soap were made by the couple and placed at each place setting.

Gerbers were placed in milk glass vases in the center of the head table that flanked the center of the venue.

The ceremony site was flanked with red Gerbers in teardrop vases. Red rose petals lined the aisle and a ribbon tied off the end of the aisle so guests could be seated from the outside aisles.

Programs that had the dual purpose as fans were made by the mother of the bride. Fans or programs that can serve as fans are always a wonderful addition to outside weddings in Summer.

Members of the bridal party walk down the aisle. Bridesmaids were welcome to pick their dress and they looked amazing! The bridesmaids carried Gerber Daisies and the groomsmen had rosemary boutonnieres, another tribute to the Bride's late grandmother.

There wasn't a dry eye at the ceremony. Heather and Marcus are the most amazing and in love couple I've ever met!

Vases were moved from the aisle to other areas at the reception after the ceremony. These vases were placed on hooks in the women's bathroom.

Blankets and pillows were placed on the lawn alongside lawn games such as croquet and cornhole for guests to relax between activities.

An airy and earthy wedding: Hilton Garden Inn & Palais Royale

Fourth of July weekend was spent working on the wedding of Rob and Brianna. The Ceremony was held at Hilton Garden Inn and the reception followed at the Palais Royale. The alter was flanked with a honeysuckle vine adorned with yellow orchids. Two arrangements were on each side of the alter with curly willow and orchids.

Different size cylinders flanked the aisle with orchids and floating candles inside.

The Palais Royale, the honeysuckle vine was moved over from the ceremony to the reception and was a nice added touch when it came time for introductions.

The cylinders were also used on the window sills after the ceremony at the Palais Royale.

Purple and Green Elegance: Palais Royale

I apologize for the delay in posting these pictures. I was hoping to get the professional pictures from the photographer by now but they haven't finished editing them just yet. I wanted to share some of my favorite shots from the wedding we coordinated in June. The ceremony was at St. Patrick Catholic Church and the reception at Palais Royale.

Shades of Blue: A Vineyard Wedding

New Fusion Events was lucky to be a part of the wedding for Timon and Phil Jandora on Saturday June 4 at Willow Harbor Vineyards in Three Oaks, MI. It was an unusually hot June day with actual temperatures in the mid 90's and the heat index reading 99 right before the ceremony. We had our work cut out to keep all of the fresh flowers alive with such hot temperatures. Thankfully, we were able to keep everything alive and looking stunning for the wedding ceremony and reception. We enjoyed working with this great couple and look forward to working at Willow Harbor soon.

New Fusion Events hung lanterns in Dark Blue and Ice Blue in varying sizes in the reception tent. A mixture of tall and short Hydrangea centerpieces were incorporated. Napkins were hung length wise to bring more color into the tent as well.

An elegant and playful bridal shower:

We had the wonderful opportunity to host a bridal shower two weeks ago. The brides wedding colors are red and blue so we brought that into the space using colored branches, napkins and carnation centerpieces. The wedding will be hosted at a beautiful barn that has an earthy yet elegant atmosphere and we wanted to bring a bit of that into the event.

Tissue poms were made to hang from the ceiling and potted herbs were placed on each plate to be given as favors for the guests.

A signature drink was ready for guests as they arrived. A nice representation of

"Something Blue".

Colorful crudites were placed at the appetizer table in small glasses for each guest.

A light lunch was provided which consisted of two varieties of sliders, kettle chips, capri salad skewers and kettle chips. A small red tree branch served as the centerpiece and the cards that hung from it were given to guests to write wishes to the bride on her wedding day.

Kettle chips were placed in glassine bags with personalized tags for guests.

At the dessert table guest found chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels, black forest cake pops, butter pecan cake pops, strawberry cheesecake push pops, candy and Jones Soda.

Strawberry cheesecake push pops were not only convenient for guest to eat but very tasty as well.

The beautiful bride with the top from her Jones Soda. It said "You and your partner will be happy in your life together". How perfect, right? We had a great time putting everything together this shower and we can't wait for the amazing wedding this July.

Vineyard Wedding

We recently had the pleasure of designing flower arrangements, lanterns, and some decorations for a wedding at Willow Harbor Vineyards in Three Oaks, Michigan. Willow Harbor is one of my favorite venues that truly wows guests from the second they arrive.

The bride wanted very minimal decorations since the venue is already stunning. The ceremony was held in front of a stone Italian gazebo.

Paper lanterns helped to dress up the tent where the reception was held. Tall arrangements were used to make more of a statement while keeping with a minimalist approach that the couple wanted.

New Fusion Event's in house florist helped to create the beautiful arrangements for the reception as well as the bouquets and boutonnieres.

A unique display was created to hold the cupcakes. The display included a variety of different size vases with orchids inside. Glass was placed on top of the vases and cupcakes were displayed on them. Orchids were added to accent the cupcakes and small cake.

Willow Harbor was amazing and we look forward to working with them again next year. They have such a beautiful venue and great owners who are dedicated to creating unforgettable memories.

Elephant Circus: 7th birthday party

I recently had the pleasure of planning an amazing circus theme birthday party for a great 7 year old complete with carnival games, treats, ponies and more. The cotton candy board above was created with the birthday girl in mind and was very popular with the kids as well as the parents. The colors of blue and red were chosen first and then we found the fun circus themed stationary (created by Dimpleprints).

Some of the games created for the party include a Duck Pond, Ring Toss, Kissing Booth (guess the number of the candy kisses), ball toss, milk bottle knockdown, baseball toss, lollipop tree, dinosaur dig and a hair coloring booth.

We had kids collect tickets while playing the games and turn them in afterwards to win prizes from a custom prize board. The prizes were wrapped in candy bags and scrapbook paper was used to make a top for the bags.

We had a table set up at the end of the 'carnival fairway' with the cotton candy, prize board, candy, cracker jacks, animal crackers, water, pinwheels, and treat bags.

A great company, Sandfire Farms, was hired to provide pony rides for the party and was a great hit with kids young and small.

And finally, a picture of the birthday girl on a pony. We just loved how the party turned out and the kids had a great time and didn't want to leave at the end of the party.

Trend Alert! Hot colors for 2010...

Having trouble picking out your color scheme for your wedding? Before you make important wedding decisions on items like a cake, bridesmaid dresses, invitations, flowers and decor, it's important to pick out the colors you'll want to incorporate. We have what's hot for 2010 and beyond. Popular colors choices for 2010 are yellow, blue, red, purple and green.

Yellow seems to always make it to the top of whats hot almost every year. With so many hues, yellow color combinations are endless. My personal favorite colors to pair with yellow are white, blue, or green. Citrus theme and picnic theme weddings have rebounded in popularity and are no longer just for casual affairs as well.

Blue comes in an amazing array of shades and hues that are great for all seasons. Brighter shades of blue are great for spring and summer weddings, while darker shades of blue are beautiful for fall and winter affairs. Hydrangeas, Tulips, Poppies, Veronica, Sweet Peas, and delphiniums are beautiful choices for bouquets and centerpieces. Popular hues that brides are choosing in 2010 are tiffany blue, teal, navy, and cobalt.

Red has always been a popular choice for Winter weddings but is now finding it's way into the Summer season. Red can be an amazing Summer choice when paired with aqua blue. Because the colors are both rich tones you'll want to use a lot of white to tone down the combination.

Purple can be used year round and is a very versatile color. There are an amazing array of purple flower options that range from dahlias, hydrangeas, freesia, roses, and orchids to name a few. It is a beautiful color that is well complimented by shades of pink, white, and green.

Green is no longer just an accent color to be used as a floral filler. Hydrangeas, cymbidium orchids, and spider chrysanthemums are all beautiful flowers that can take center stage in a wedding centerpiece. Limes, green apples, and hedge apples can be used as accents in decor and are equally as great to incorporate in escort tables.

The above colors are great in their own but the color combinations are unlimited. New Fusion Events has two weddings in the next year in which the couples have chosen to incorporate purple and green into their wedding day. I put together a basic collaboration of pictures for one of the brides and have included the inspiration board below. We are all too excited to be working with these great couples with their amazing color schemes!

Summer Wedding

Today I'm highlighting some pictures from a wedding we planned and coordinated this past August at Willow Harbor Vineyards in Michigan. It was a Jewish-Christian wedding that was held on a Sunday afternoon at the vineyard. The wedding ceremony held very traditional colors of black and white and the reception was bold and bright with hot pink and orange colors abound. Some of our favorite pictures of the event are below.

Custom escort cards were crafted out of handmade pinwheels for the reception.

The cake was made by Rascia's Creative Cakes to match the brides reception colors of hot pink and orange with a splash of green.

Flip flops were offered to guests to make sure the guests could be comfortable while dancing.

The white tent and linens were a great foundation for the great bold colors of orange and pink.

A candy buffet offered guests a variety of sweet options all while staying within the color theme of pink and orange with hints of lime green.

The black and white theme of the ceremony was carried over to the bouquets. The bride and grooms mothers had Tussie Mussies instead of corsages or bouquets.

The handmade program fans were created by New Fusion Events to keep guests cool during the ceremony and to explain the Jewish customs that were part of the ceremony.

The ceremony service was held under a stone italian gazebo that was adorned with swags of hydrangeas and roses with crystal accents.

The ceremony was held in front of a pond next to the vineyard at Willow Harbor in Three Oaks, MI. The aisle was lined with white rose petals and shepherds hooks held arrangements of white hydrangea and accented with black and white ribbons.

Today I am posting some pictures from a small backyard affair we recently worked on. I hope you enjoy.

This last minute party had a citrus theme with a table full of homemade treats and drinks.

Tape that was spray painted with chalkboard paint was affixed to the glasses so that guests could write their names on them. Lemonade and limeaid was provided to guests in addition to a soda table and adult alcohol table.

Homemade cupcakes with lemon and lime atop were very popular with the children.

Caprese salad skewers that were passed around at the beginning of the party gave it an instant 'summer' feel.
